1. God is Holy & He loves you.
God is Holy. He is holy as the one who created us, the one who is uniquely different from us, and the one who is completely sinless. He is the amazing, artistic Creator and Author of Life and He made all that He has made, in love. Because of God’s love for all persons, He passionately desires that you have an unbroken personal relationship with Him. He created you and everyone for this. Everything about God displays His holiness and His love. He truly loves you more than anyone possibly every could.
John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5
2. We are all sinners.
All persons are sinners in that they disobey God and His standard of Law. Sin is not just doing wrong things. Sin is choosing to go your own way and do your own thing as opposed to being obedient to God. This is an unholy rebellion against God who created us in love and all us are guilty of sin.
Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10
3. Sin separates you from God.
This rebellion forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into an unbroken personal relationship with God, who is holy. As an unholy person, you can’t have fellowship with God. Because of this broken relationship, people are on path to a Christ-less eternity that the Bible calls death and hell.
Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23
4. You can’t save yourself.
People often think that through their good efforts or intentions they can overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. This simply isn’t true and goes against the truth of the Scriptures God gave us in the Bible. There’s nothing you can do to restore the broken relationship with God. You can’t earn God’s salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5
5. God sent His Son Jesus to remove the sin barrier.
Jesus‘ (God) came to live a sinless perfect life on this earth so that He could provide the only sacrifice that was acceptable. His death on the cross is the only price that could be paid to remove the sin barrier between you and God. Jesus died for your sins and the sins of all. He was taking upon Himself the punishment that we deserved. God did for you in Jesus, what we couldn’t do for ourselves.
1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21
6. You can receive grace from Jesus Christ through faith.
Faith is believing that Jesus is all that He says He is and that He will do all He says He will do. You can be saved by placing your faith in what Jesus has done for you on the cross rather than trusting your own efforts to have a relationship with God. Only by the choice of faith can we receive this grace for salvation. This choice also involves making Jesus the permanent leader of your life. Faith leads you to repentance or genuine sorrow for sin and willingness to turn away from sin.
John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10
7. Through faith you and anyone can have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Believe that Jesus Christ is the one true God who went to the cross for our sins; who died and rose again from the grave to give us life. Confess to God that you know you are a sinner and ask for the forgiveness that only He offers. Express your repentance for your sinfulness and the desire to seek His plans for your life. Trust Jesus by making the choice to follow Him as the permanent leader of your life. Thank Him for saving you. Commit yourself to live for Him.
